9mm Luger Once-Fired Brass for Reloading

Our once-fired 9mm Luger brass provides an economical alternative to purchasing new brass for training, target shooting, competition, and general-purpose reloading. It is obtained from commercial, law enforcement, and other shooting ranges, as well as individual brass suppliers, then sorted and inspected before being offered for resale to reloaders.

This page includes multiple 9mm Luger brass products with different processing and condition options. Depending on availability, individual products may include dirty range brass, washed and polished brass, nickel-plated brass, roll-sized brass, fully processed brass, or other specialty selections.

Standard 9mm Luger brass is generally mixed headstamp and uses Boxer primer pockets with Small Pistol primers unless the individual product title or description states otherwise. Some cases may have military primer crimps, smaller flash holes, or other manufacturer-specific variations.

Please review the title and Short Description of each individual product before ordering. Those sections identify the pack size, processing level, condition, and other details specific to that SKU.

Most once-fired brass orders include approximately 2–3% additional brass. Once-fired brass is a previously used product, and while we work hard to maintain high quality standards, no inspection process is perfect. We also recognize that every reloader's inspection standards and intended use may differ. Please see our Brass Information page for details regarding our overpack policy.

Quality Standards & Processing (Click to expand)

How We Process 9mm Luger Brass

Our 9mm Luger brass passes through multiple stages of sorting, cleaning, inspection, and quality control before being packaged for sale. Because 9mm is one of the most common cartridges collected from shooting ranges, efficient processing is essential to maintaining consistent quality.

Incoming brass is first sorted to remove steel, aluminum, rimfire cases, and other unwanted materials. It is then processed through specialized sorting equipment designed to separate cases by material, body diameter, rim diameter, and case length. Depending on the product selected, additional processing such as cleaning, roll sizing, or full processing may also be performed.

Washed & Polished brass is cleaned using our industrial wet-cleaning process and dried and polished in heated corncob media to improve its appearance while helping preserve the brass during storage.

Every batch is then hand-inspected to remove cases showing split mouths, severe corrosion, major physical damage, severely damaged rims, excessive discoloration, or other conditions that could affect reloadability.

Our Quality Standard

Once-fired brass is a previously used product, and every case has its own history. While no inspection process can identify every possible defect, our goal is to provide brass that we would be confident using ourselves.

Many inspection decisions rely on practical reloading experience rather than a simple checklist. If a case does not meet the quality standard we expect for our own reloading bench, we would rather remove it than ship it.

Regardless of where your brass is purchased, every reloader should thoroughly inspect every case before reloading. This is one of the most important steps in producing safe, reliable ammunition. While we work hard to identify and remove defective cases, once-fired brass is a previously used product and no inspection process can guarantee that every defect will be found. The final inspection should always be performed by the individual assembling the ammunition.

Most once-fired brass orders include approximately 2–3% additional brass. While this helps compensate for the occasional case that may not meet our quality standards or your individual expectations, it should never replace a careful inspection before loading.

For additional information about once-fired brass, inspection, primer crimps, flash holes, safety considerations, and our overpack policy, please visit our Brass Information page.

Reloading Notes (Click to expand)

Preparing 9mm Luger Brass for Reloading

Proper case preparation is one of the most important steps in producing safe, reliable, and consistent ammunition. Every case should be inspected before reloading, regardless of whether it is new or once-fired.

Primer Pocket Crimps

Some military and law enforcement 9mm brass may contain crimped primer pockets designed to retain the primer under harsh service conditions. Before seating a new primer, these crimps typically must be removed by swaging or reaming. Primer crimps are a normal manufacturing feature and are not considered a defect.

Case Bulges and Partially Unsupported Chambers

Some 9mm brass fired in pistols with partially unsupported chambers may develop a bulge near the base of the case. These are sometimes called "Glock bulges," although similar bulges can occur in firearms made by other manufacturers.

Conventional sizing dies may remove minor bulges during normal resizing. Cases with more pronounced bulges may require additional processing, such as push-through sizing or roll sizing, before they can be reloaded.

Roll Sizing

US Reloading Supply offers roll-sized 9mm brass as a separate product option. Roll sizing processes the case body and lower case area differently from conventional resizing and is commonly used by high-volume reloaders and commercial ammunition manufacturers.

Unless otherwise stated in the individual product title or Short Description, roll-sized brass has not necessarily been deprimed, full-length resized, or otherwise fully processed. Customers should review the specific product information before ordering.

Small Flash Holes

Some manufacturers produce 9mm brass with smaller-than-standard flash holes. These cases remain reloadable but may require a smaller decapping pin. Attempting to decap these cases with an oversized pin can result in damaged or broken decapping pins.

Nickel-Plated Brass

Nickel-plated 9mm cases can generally be reloaded using the same equipment as standard brass cases. Many reloaders appreciate nickel plating for its corrosion resistance, ease of identification, and attractive appearance.

Case Length

Unlike many bottleneck rifle cartridges, 9mm Luger brass rarely requires trimming. However, cases should still be inspected periodically and measured whenever unusual dimensions or case damage are suspected.

Mixed-Headstamp Brass

Our standard 9mm brass is sold as mixed headstamp unless otherwise specified. Many reloaders successfully use mixed-headstamp brass for training, recreational shooting, and general-purpose ammunition. Shooters seeking maximum consistency may choose to sort brass by manufacturer or lot before loading.

Cartridge Information (Click to expand)

About the 9mm Luger Cartridge

The 9mm Luger—also known as 9x19mm and 9mm Parabellum—was developed in the early 1900s and has become one of the most widely used centerfire handgun cartridges in the world.

Its combination of manageable recoil, compact cartridge dimensions, broad firearm compatibility, and widespread ammunition availability has made it popular for recreational shooting, competition, military and law enforcement service, personal defense, and high-volume training.

Common Names

The following names are commonly associated with this cartridge family:

  • 9mm Luger
  • 9x19mm
  • 9mm Parabellum
  • 9mm NATO
  • 9mm

9mm Luger, 9x19mm, and 9mm Parabellum generally refer to the same basic commercial cartridge. Although 9mm NATO shares similar dimensions, loaded-ammunition specifications and intended applications may differ. Always confirm that the ammunition and load are appropriate for the firearm being used.

Common Firearms Chambered in 9mm Luger

9mm Luger is used in a wide range of firearms, including:

  • Full-size, compact, and subcompact semi-automatic pistols
  • Pistol-caliber carbines
  • Competition pistols
  • Military and law enforcement service pistols
  • Submachine guns
  • Specialty revolvers and other firearm platforms

9mm NATO Brass

9mm NATO brass shares the same basic cartridge dimensions as commercial 9mm Luger brass and is commonly processed using standard 9mm Luger reloading equipment. Military cases may contain crimped primer pockets or other manufacturing variations that require additional preparation.

Because military ammunition may be produced to different service specifications than commercial ammunition, reloaders should use current published load data and work up loads carefully.

Nickel-Plated Brass

Nickel-plated 9mm brass is occasionally available as a separate product option. Nickel-plated cases are valued by some reloaders for corrosion resistance, easier visual identification, and their bright appearance.

Steel and Aluminum Cases

Steel and aluminum cases are commonly encountered during the sorting of range brass. These materials are separated from standard reloadable brass and are not included unless an individual product is specifically identified as steel, aluminum, or another specialty case type.

Frequently Asked Questions (Click to expand)

Frequently Asked Questions About 9mm Luger Brass

Q: Is this 9mm brass deprimed?
A: Deprimed status varies by individual product. Review the product title and Short Description before ordering.

Q: Is this brass Boxer primed?
A: Standard 9mm brass is generally Boxer primed unless the individual product title or description states otherwise.

Q: Is this mixed-headstamp brass?
A: Yes. Our standard 9mm brass is sold as mixed headstamp unless the individual product title or description states otherwise.

Q: Is military brass included?
A: Depending on the product selected and the composition of the batch, military headstamps may be present. Military cases may contain crimped primer pockets that require additional preparation before reloading.

Q: What is the difference between 9mm Luger, 9x19mm, and 9mm Parabellum?
A: These names generally refer to the same basic commercial cartridge. "9mm Luger" and "9mm Parabellum" are common names for the 9x19mm cartridge.

Q: Is 9mm NATO brass reloadable?
A: Yes. Boxer-primed 9mm NATO brass is commonly processed using standard 9mm Luger reloading equipment. Military primer crimps may require primer-pocket swaging or reaming before a new primer can be seated.

Q: What is a primer crimp?
A: A primer crimp is a manufacturing feature commonly found on military cases to help retain the primer. It is not considered a defect, but it usually must be removed before seating a new primer.

Q: What is a Glock bulge?
A: A Glock bulge is a common nickname for a bulge near the base of a cartridge case that may occur when brass is fired in a pistol with a partially unsupported chamber. Similar bulges can occur in firearms made by other manufacturers.

Q: What is roll sizing?
A: Roll sizing processes the case body and lower case area differently from conventional resizing and may help address bulges near the base. US Reloading Supply offers roll-sized 9mm brass as a separate product option.

Q: Is roll-sized brass fully processed?
A: No. Roll-sized brass has been roll-sized only. In most cases, the spent primer remains in place, the case has not been full-length resized, and any military primer crimp has not been removed by swaging or reaming. Customers seeking brass that has completed those additional processing steps should select the Fully Processed option.

Q: What is the difference between Washed & Polished, Roll-Sized, and Fully Processed brass?
A: Washed & Polished brass has been cleaned but otherwise requires normal case preparation by the reloader. Roll-Sized brass has been cleaned and roll-sized but typically still requires depriming, full-length resizing, and primer-pocket preparation when applicable. Fully Processed brass has been deprimed, roll-sized, full-length resized, and had its primer pocket swaged. Always review the individual product title and Short Description for the exact processing level.

Q: Do I need to trim 9mm brass?
A: 9mm Luger brass rarely requires trimming, but cases should still be inspected and measured periodically as part of normal case preparation.

Q: Can I reload nickel-plated 9mm brass?
A: Yes. Nickel-plated cases can generally be reloaded using the same procedures as standard brass cases, provided they pass inspection.

Q: Why do you include extra brass?
A: Most once-fired brass orders include approximately 2–3% additional brass. Once-fired brass is a previously used product, and while we work hard to maintain high quality standards, no inspection process is perfect. We also recognize that every reloader's inspection standards and intended use may differ. Please see our Brass Information page for details regarding our overpack policy.

Q: Should I inspect every case before reloading?
A: Yes. Every case should be thoroughly inspected before loading, regardless of whether the brass is new, once-fired, or previously reloaded. The final inspection is always the responsibility of the individual assembling the ammunition.

Q: Where can I learn more about once-fired brass?
A: Visit our Brass Information page for additional information about inspection, primer crimps, flash holes, case preparation, safety, and our overpack policy.

Pretty sure no one has ever stated their order came too fast before. It's good to hear! Although I am glad you didn't end up on the couch. We'll try to take a little longer next time... XD - Talon

9mm Luger Brass
5
Just purchased roughly 2k 9mm used brass.  After totally processing, had (2) cracked pieces of brass.  WOW, can it get better than that!!  Pricing great, quality is first class, fast  processing and shipping.

We are buying more, which is the way a business truly shows they are happy with the results.

I appreciate the review. Sorry about the cracked cases. We do try to eliminate those, but we do miss some here and there. We know we aren't perfect, and we miss things sometimes. That is exactly why we include 2-3% extra with most types of OFB. Again, I appreciate the feedback and thank you for your business! - Talon
Excellent

Reloading 9mm luger ammo

Received 20 lbs of range brass, and after sorting ended up with about 50 aluminum cases, and 8 damaged cases. Also had 3 unfired rounds, which I pulled the bullets on and saved for reloading later. 'Shot' the cases, all were duds.

Wasn't sure if this was the right brass, as my gun say 9x19, but called and spoke with Jim, and he assured me they were. Said if they didn't work, let him know and he would give me a full refund. Well, I bought them and some Berry bullets and they worked just great. Glad to know someone can answer my questions that isn't just a sales person!

Best deal, get some while you can
5
I have bought 60 lbs so far and plan to buy more.. This is the best deal you can get lest you get some for free. I get 1100-1200 brass with every 10 lbs. that looks almost brand new after wet tumbling. Got about 40 aluminum cases from 60lbs and no 380s. Wish I could share the a picture. Great brass, great deal
5
Just got my last order of 50 packs of brass, very please. Shipped next day after my order and I had it by the end of the week. All the brass was clean and looked better than what I do. Package was well taped with fiber reinforced tape, first time I have seen that from any brass guys, so really happy with that. Good job guys, keep it up, I'll be back!

Overall this lot has been great. I've used about half so far with 0 issues. Just bought another caliber since the first was so nice.

My fifth order, came very quickly and price is good too. My order of 5,000, was afraid the box would break open... well this  box had so much reinforced tape i had to use a razor to cut it open! Guys do a great job, will be ordering more!

Great brass
5
Saw the one star review and after laughing at the newbie reloader, just had to try it. Good stuff! after pulling a single piece of steel, two 380s, a 223 and several dozen pieces of aluminum out, I ended up with about 1090+ cases that were usable. As for crimped primers and small holes, I've been dealing with that for years and never paid much attention to it. BLMs post was a blast, you can tell an inexperienced reloader a mile a way! Lol

BELIEVE IT!

I BOUGHT MY FIRST ORDER OF 9MM OFB 500 rounds and I couldn't believe my eyes! This stuff is awesome!
I realize they tumble these cases but most of them were still shiny inside and this shine didn't come from tumbling. Shipping was quick and easy.
I think everyone should quit buying them!  More for me...

Great deal
5
Everybody should read the one critical review so they can see how useless reviews are. I bought 3 cases hoping for at least 1000 per case. After all the culls, I counted only the first case and stopped counting at 1000 with quite a few left over. I got 1-3 % aluminum in ea case and a few 380's. That is more than acceptable and a great price. Crimped primers are easily dealt with. God help us if BLM are reloading. Hopefully natural selection will fix that idiot, but he'll probably sue when he blows his fingers off.

Good brass
5
I've ordered this twice now, price is right, and it reloads well. Most places charge a lot more for what they call processed then what you guys call sem-processed. Tired of getting my hands filthy getting range brass from other places. all of your stuff is clean and polished and I usually get several extra in each order, maybe 4 or 5. thnaks

Quality clean brass
5
I only ordered 1,000 for my initial purchase to try out USRS and am very happy.   The brass is all in great shape and clean.  I ran them through my polisher anyway as it allows me to go through them in small batches and they were all good to go!

Absolutely love this stuff
5
Started loading 9mm for the first time. Needed brass. Well I found the it right here. I've ordered 06 & 45acp once fired brass before from other places. I was expecting the same old trash. Figured for the price I could sort it and come up with what I needed until I got to the range and high graded the brass cans. Man was I surprised. This is clean quality stuff. It looked like new except the spent primers were still in place. For this price I won't bother with the pickups. Knock the primers out, cleaned the pockets and I'm ready to go. Good job guys. 👏
Only complaint Is they don't handled 6.5 Grundel & 224 Valkyrie right now.

Went looking for 9mm brass. Found US Reloading and checked the Price. Price was so good I figured this site was a scam. Checked the BBB for complaints. Found none and that they has been in business for a few years so I took a chance. My shipment arrived 4 days before I expected it. Opened the box and checked what had been shipped. Brass was clean and shiny. Number was correct with no trash cases.
Happy beyond words with US Reloaders. I will be back for more!

Good brass
5
This is my second order and I think it is pretty good brass. Saw the LONG review from some other guy and think it is pretty funny. Guy must be a new reloader. I bought brass from about everybody and except for brand spanking new brass, find a unfired shell every once in awhile. I just toss it in the scrap heap and move on.

My compliments!!
5
I recently bought a case of the dirty 9mm OFB to "Give USR a try."  The brass I received was much cleaner than that pictured on the order page.  Based on my weighing, I'm guessing that I received between 1120 and 1140 cases. I culled TWO cases -- one was aluminum and the other had a severely deformed case mouth.  There were the usual dings and case mouth dimples, but nothing that won't size out.  This is some of the best range brass that I've purchased and I was very surprised at the overall quality. There were some NORMA cases with sub-size flash holes, but the brass itself was good.  If you're looking for some good, competitively priced once fired, this is it.  Highly recommended.

Great for getting a bulk brass supply
5
Used 20lbs of this stuff and its very good, decapped and cleaned myself and only had minimal issues with some Norma branded stuff in the mix, rest of it ran fine through a decapper.

Black brass?
5
Just received my first order of 1,000 and found some black brass in the bag. Thought it was dirty or burnt brass but after looking at it and Googling it found out that some manufacturers are selling PAINTED brass casing. Learn something new everyday! The rest of the brass was great, and there were only a hand full of black ones. I'll Be Back!

Cleanest once fired brass
5
Think this the cleanest 9mm once fired brass I've seen. Count was good to and I didn't see any chuckers. Did have 1 380 but since I reload that to, not a big deal. Will be buying again.

Excellent quality!
5
Have order multiple batches of 9mm once fire brass.  All batches were clean enough to go straight into my reloading process.  Only a few had crimped primers or visual damage.  USR was out of 380 cartridges so I ordered from a competitor.  Competitors cartridges required hours tumbling before processing.  Next time i will wait for USR.

Exceeded expectations
5
I hate to say this since everything is so hard to find, but the once fired 9mm brass I received was some of the best I have purchased over the years.

If there wasn't a spent primer in the case it would be difficult to tell it was once fired.

Plenty
5
Ordered 10k of brass for me and my friends, and it came in several boxes about 4 days later. Well packed with lots of tape! Brass was clean and ready to start loading. Probably had about 30 or 40 that were bad or were 380's, but the company gave us hundreds of extras so we had much more than needed to cover those few bad ones. Will be ordering more when these run out.

Good clean brass
5
Order came very quickly and was well packed. Checked it out and the 2 bags of 1,000 looked good. I did check out one back and looks like I got about 1031 pieces and I found 4 380 acp in the bunch. Much better than I got from another unnamed internet company that sells jewelry. They shorted me 20 and they weren't cleaned like they said they would be..

Lot of brass in the box
5
Ordered these a few days ago and when the box came in, thought 'Wow, lot of brass in this box!' Was pleased that they all look good and the box had the brass in 1,000 (or more) to a bag (3 bags). And the box was wrapped 3 ways to Sunday with tape, not like other places that slap one length of straping tape on it and expect it to hold through the shipping process.
