Brass Processing – How We Prepare Your 380 ACP Brass

All of our once fired 380 ACP brass starts as range brass from indoor and outdoor ranges. First, the brass is run through our trommels to remove .22s, trash, and any steel cases. Next, we sort by body and rim diameter with roll sorters, and then by height using SnapSorters. Finally, everything is hand sorted to remove nickel, damaged or defective cases, and any aluminum that may have slipped through the machines.

After sorting, the brass is cleaned in our wet industrial vibratory cleaners (up to 250 lbs at a time), then dried in a heated corncob mixture to bring out the shine and help protect against tarnish. When we package your 380 brass, we add an additional 2–3% extra to cover any unusable cases we may have missed. You get cleaned, inspected, once fired 380 ACP brass that is ready for your reloading bench.

How many times can I reload 380 ACP brass?

There is no fixed number, but with mild to moderate loads and good inspection, many reloaders may get over a half a dozen  firings from each case. Retire any case that shows cracks, loose primer pockets, or other damage.

Is this truly once fired 380 brass?

Our 380 ACP brass is range brass that has been mechanically sorted and then hand inspected. While we cannot guarantee a specific headstamp has only been fired once, our process removes damaged and obviously over-used cases so you receive solid, reloadable brass.

Is the brass cleaned and ready to reload?

Yes. Our cleaned 380 ACP once fired brass is wet washed, dried, and polished. You may still want to resize, deprime, and perform your usual case prep before loading, but the brass arrives bright and ready for the press.
