SnapSorter – Sort Brass by Height

Manually separating 9mm from .380 ACP (and similar calibers) is time-consuming and frustrating. The SnapSorter automates the process, letting you sort brass quickly, accurately, and consistently.

This patent-pending system can sort a bucket of brass in about one hour, making it easy to process 8 or more buckets per day with minimal supervision.

How It Works

The SnapSorter separates brass by case height, making it ideal for calibers with similar base diameters but different lengths.

âś” Works best when:

  • Case height difference is at least 0.10 inches

  • Base diameters are similar (example: 9mm / .380)

⚠️ Note: Calibers with significantly different base diameters (such as .30-30 and .308), or nested cases cannot be sorted together.

Common Calibers Sorted

Currently used to sort:

  • 9mm / .380 ACP

  • .38 Special / .357 Magnum

  • .40 S&W / 10mm Auto

  • .223 / 300 Blackout

  • .308 / 6.5 Creedmoor / .30-06

Sorting heads are preset but fully adjustable by user.

Sorting Speed (Approximate)

  • 9mm & small pistol brass: 5,000–6,000 cases/hour (full 5 gallon bucket)

  • .38 & .40 calibers: ~4,000 cases/hour (full 5 gallon bucket)

  • Rifle brass: Slower (testing ongoing)

⚠️ For pistol calibers, the limiting factor is often the brass collator speed, not the SnapSorter.
A larger 16" high-speed collator is currently in development.

Great idea, works well

I was a little hesitant to order one of these as there were no reviews on it yet. BUT, I decided to give it a try as there was a money back guarantee on it. Received it about a week after I ordered it and was pretty excited to try it. My neighbour came over to help me put it together and it went real smooth. I had an old beat up wooden table so I just used their included template and sketched it, then cut the table with a jig saw, cut wasn’t pretty but it worked.
I screwed it down, then slid my Dillon case feeder over to give it a try. Once I plugged it in, I was surprised how quite it was, then I realized that nothing was turning. I took a look at the directions and sure enough, it say you have to have brass in the machine for it to start turning, so I stuck a nut driver in the top of the drop tube and sure enough, it started quietly turning.
Pulled the nut driver out, and then connected the Dillon feeder, dropped in the brass and watched it turn! The Dillon couldn’t keep up with the sorter, so when the tube didn’t have a few cases in it, it automatically stopped, then waited till it had more in the tube, then restarted. Very slick!
Ran it for a few hours and did 2 buckets of 9mm/380 brass through it, found I had a few 9mm Makarov as well. Ran very well unless there was a smashed case and then I would put the bad case out and it would continue.
Overall, very pleased and will be getting another head for my 40 S&W sorting.
