Steel cases with brass finish

Just because it looks like brass, doesn’t mean it is brass. Next time you are sorting your range brass, don’t skip the magnet check, even if they all have that ‘brassey’ look. Xtreme is putting out a 9mm steel case with brass plating. Sure looks pretty but they may give you a surprise if mix them up with your brass and run them through your press. You’ll notice right off when you pull the handle that it won’t have the same feel as the brass. Probably due to being a small diameter, you won’t get one stuck in your die, but you will feel the extra drag caused by being steel instead of brass.
